I haven't blogged in 2 weeks, i just realized. Maybe it's because too much has happened. or that i just don't really feel like talking much.
lots of things have happened over this 2 weeks. I've started running again, I've started bio o training, I've piped at some conference and some funeral and I've visited the Istana for the first time ever!
see how much nonsense has happened? and now i have pw and bb parades to contend with. oh well.
life goes on.
if life gives you lemons, make lemonade out of it". I was thinking more along the lines of SUCK THEM, though.

pipe comp was yesterday. and lots of stuff has happened these few days.
went to go and donate blood. and i was seriously freaking out. something like bungee jumping without all the thrill and all the dread. but then it turns out that i can't donate for like one more week because of complications in surgery as a result of the use of general anesthetic. and i don't really know why. and i learnt that they test the blood collected for syphillis. really, can't you even trust 17 year old students?
then i went to school for pipe stuff. staying over in school. hm it was quite interesting, especially when i realized i had lost my pipe. so i spent quite a long time searching for it. then later i realized it was in the pipe cupboard all the time -.-
the next day was pipe comp. again, i was freaking out at solos. when i was playing i could seriously feel my legs shaking like crazy. oh well. first time. last time i do senior solos too :/
minature band. hmm the first time we went on stage to play the open 8part march everything went really really really really well. it was like the past few months of hard work just clicking into place. and we got a standing ovation :D medley after that went well too. what happened after that was quite a joke.
"eh doesn't that tune sound really familiar" (listening to northland play their open medley)
"wtf isn't that some song we learnt bonny galloway or something" (shock and horror)
"omg they must be mad. it sounds even easier than the one we learnt" (disbelief)
then they go on and win open. which, frankly, is quite amazing. bonny medley-cheap and powerful. just like fake viagra. so powerful it gets you into the ICU everytime for liver failure.
and it turns out we got second for open and second runners up for senior. ah well. we gave our best. and that sounds really cliched, really.
so anyway this journey of this band comp goes out to ben john longkuan ken darius kieran and arun. yeah you guys are the bomb. and not forgetting jinfu. don't let pneumonia get in your way! thanks too to yq for giving us the push when we needed it. (and don't think of anything disgusting)
so anyway this concludes the chapter of piping for this year's band comp. time to really get down to work again.
