i think chelsea is a really really really lucky team.
i mean, how on earth do they get to draw with liverpool and beat man u, if it isn't for their bloody luck?
i can just imagine the papers screaming "deja vu for Chelsea!"
goodness. what are the odds of john arne riise scoring an own goal? granted, he is rather prone to making stupid mistakes, but what are the odds of that happening and michael carrick getting a hand-ball? quite low, i must say. and in two consecutive matches.
so that makes a damned lucky chelsea. but then, liverpool plays chelsea on wednesday without lampard, so they have to win. yeah.
anyway, tomorrow is merrill's birthday. and i bought a nice cake for him :D. I shall post pictures of the cake and the birthday celebrations soon (:

imcb is over.
so now urcb. or maybe its now iwascb. but never mind. what matters is that it's over. it was fun while it lasted though. but maybe iarecb. but then you get a grammar mistake.
ah nevermind. I shall concentrate on trying to finish the damn chem tutorial 4.
and i have a cold. so now i'm not hot anymore. :(

today i learnt where not to stand to get a standing space on the MRT train.
today i was at the MRT at 8.30 waiting for a train to get to buona vista. I went up the escalator, and i saw that there was a door where no one was standing at. So i decided to go and stand there, hoping that no one else would come and stand there too.
no one else came. so i was happy. like any decent person would feel. then the train came.
it turned out that the door i was at was immediately beside the carriage connector. So it was already full before it came to bukit gombak. which means that i had to wait for the next train to arrive. oh well.
yeah. life's like that. tough. but i'm tougher! like peng. but without the hot air :D

The first day at imcb was really a warm-up. I wouldn't call it particularly exciting, but yes, it was fun. I met nice people from many schools, and also crazy people that i thought i would never meet.
so anyway i'm going back. hahs.

I suddenly feel very lazy. Or do I feel tired?
I slept through 5 minutes of the maths lecture today. and I slept through 10 minutes of the econs lecture. At least I didn't miss much for either topics. But given the fact that i won't be in school for the next three days means that I might miss out on alot.
Oh well. guess I really do have to buck up.
But i have handed up my PI! so no more late nights and random stuff. I'm looking forward to imcb since everyone says it's fun and, well, very slack. So maybe i'll be able to enjoy proper sleep for the rest of this week :)
Met hiok today in the toilet. Strangely, there were two other people in the cubicles so after we came in there were four happy people in the loo. and for the record, i am NOT gay. it's funny how people get strange ideas in their head.
today is chris fang's birthday and jappy's birthday! gave jappy something interesting, with a rather...unique card. do remember to use rubber, jappy! 7-11 might have some under the counter :D
Went for lunch with moose leo bak choon hp shahan and jot today. surprisingly, we ended up at pizza hut, and we managed to squeeze 8 people into a round table meant for like, 5? All thanks to me, of course. i think we might have irritated the other people in the restaurant; we were talking quite loudly. then again, do you not expect 8 boys to make alot of noise?
you placed the stars in the sky and you know them by name.
and we think we're smart.

hmm today i feel really tired.
maybe i didn't drink coffee today. but then again, i don't thrive on caffeine buzzes. Tried to do a 30 min suicide run today, but i stopped at 10 minutes. I just couldn't continue.
I guess i need more motivation to go and run. It isn't what you think it is haha. really.
so anyway off to sleep now. I shall try it again tomorrow.
oh, and happy birthday to jiwei and japheth! one too slippery and one pimp! :D

i have recently noticed something around bus-stops in Singapore. Today, as I was at holland village, I saw an advertisement for Brands. There was this girl from ACS(I) holding a bottle of Brand's Chicken Essence and underneath, the headline screamed
"Perfect Score for 2007 IB Exams!"
Then I got onto the bus, and when I alighted along Bukit Timah road, I saw the same advertisement, but this time, there was an RGS girl holding a bottle of chicken essence. not surprisingly, she was one of the top scorers of the 2007 PSLE exams. what a coincidence!
After gym, I was on the bus on the way home again. Along Old Jurong Road, I saw a third advertisement! What a surprise! This time, the banner featured 2 RI boys posing and smiling with - guess what, a bottle of chicken essence!
I guess it would make sense for Brands to go all out and grab these people to advertise for their products, but isn't that giving a false sense of hope to people who drink it? I mean ,the obvious intent of these advertisements is that if you drink Brands Chicken Essence, you can become a top student too!
However, Brands has conveniently forgot the fact that not everyone is and can be a top student. I mean, if everyone gets the same mark for an exam, how would the exam be able to act as a benchmark to stream students of different intellectual abilities? Furthermore, drinking Brands does not necesarily mean that you can become a top student. bleh. I have drank Brands before exams before, and I am (proud?) to say that it has not made me a top student.
so hah! brands isn't effective! (for me at least). now on to do my PI. i shall call this post "Branding and Brands!" hoho.

today i tried to do something very stupid.
After church, i was planning to go to the gym to hit the treadmill. So i was at holland village walking to the bus stop when i walked past starbucks. And they were having a new product- dulce de leche frappucinos.
Basically, dulce de leche is some sort of milk caramel. And it tastes good. Which is all that matters. So, on impulse, (or after five seconds of contemplation) I decided I would go and buy one. And I drank it all the way to the gym. Never mind the fact that it wasn't very cheap. After drinking it, I didn't exactly feel very good. Stupid me.
Normally, the smart (or not so stupid) thing to do after that would be to sit down and rest. But noooo, smart little nat decides that a run will help the coffee get digested faster! So i got on the treadmill and did a 6km run. So i ran and ran with a horrible stitch for 5km. As victor in my class put it aptly during one of the many PE runs:
"i'm running with nescafe in my stomach!"
oh well.
A friend told me something rather interesting today too. He was telling me about ACJC's sports day heats. Coincidentally, HCJC was having a rugby match on the same day. So the chinese boys were on the track valiantly trying to pass a ball while the AC people were running around the track. Of course, the PE teachers got quite angry that the HC boys were disrupting the heats. So one teacher went up to the microphone and said:
"will the hwa chong boys kindly get off the track? We are having our sports day heats. Thank You."
"oh sorry, xie2xie2".
So we have a common rival?

Oh my. My blog has been around for 2 years! And I haven't posted anything haha.
Maybe I haven't had the time to. Or maybe I couldn't bear to delete it. oh well. I guess its answer number 2.
I guess if i had deleted my blog I wouldn't have done justice the the 2 years I spent in 3/4P. I mean, from those 2 years I had, well, many interesting memories. I have also met too many people for me to forget in such a short while. Not that I would want to, anyway.
damn. why am i brooding over nonsense. but then again, when will we ever have a msn convo where half the posts include familiar 4 letter words? when will we ever be able to play softball in the class again? when will we ever be able to make g-strings and screwdrivers again? when will i ever be able to sell my class again?
ok maybe the last question was out of the point. ah well. and for good reasons too.
but anyway! when slau sings love foolosophy he looks like peng on crack. or ecstasy. ah. something like that. hmm slau sings well. and shahan too, definitely.
and next sunday is merrill's birthday! so to all 4P people out there do remember to come down to the canteen on monday morning as usual at 7.30. 7.45 if really too late. we're going to celebrate merrill's birthday! but before this, for merrill's benefit, there will be no wasabi or chili sauce used in this celebration. It will be a nice and decent birthday celebration. just like all the other classes that have had birthday celebrations before. with a PROPER cake cutting, of course.
so that's that. I shall try to post more often. one post in two years just doesn't attract enough attention :/
